Hurley Wants Active War Role

Received Tuesday, 12,20 a.m. WASHINGTON, Aug. 31. Brigadier-General Hurley, U.S. Minister to New Zealand, who accompanied Mr. Fraser, revealed that he is seeking a more active war role. He likes the New Zealanders and believes he has assured them of America’s determination to win. Now he wants President Roosevelt to transfer him to combat duty.
