The Palmerston North Waste Materials Committee, at a recent meeting, decided to ask the Minister of Defence whether it would be possible to secure the co-operation of the Army in a drive for the collection of rubber. The Mayor (Mr. Mansford) has received a reply from the Minister stating that he has discussed the matter with the Minister of Supply, who was arranging for the proposal to be considered at the earliest possible moment.
