Military Wedding at Woodville

SOMERVELL—GRINLINTON. The first military wedding to take place in St. .David's Presbyterian: Jhurch was solemnized on August ldtn xJ-ijJ when Elsie Dose, younger daughter of Mrs Griniinton and tne late Mr J. K. Griniinton was married to Lieut, jolin Keitn, eluest son of Mrs bonierveil and the late Mr J. W. Somervell, Jailance {Street, Gisoornc. The church .tad been artistically decorated by girl ..riencis of the bride with large sprays of white pium blossom, pink prunus, japomca, uapnne and camellias. The bride, who was given away by acr brother Mr H. Griniinton of Wei* .ington looked charming in a simply made off white satin-backed taffeta frock with tight fitting pointed sleeves and a train trimmed with dainty hand made flowers and leaves. Her veil (kindly lent by a friend) was held in place by a spray of winter roses. She arried a sheaf of white hyacinths, Jreesias, camellias and asparagus fern. The matron of honour, the bride's is ter, Mrs R. Maussen, wore sky blue ,affeta with a heart-shaped neckline and targe puffed sleeves, and her bouquet was composed of pink camellias, as was also the spray in her hair.

The duties of best man were earned jut by tho bridegroom’s brother Trooper T. P. Somervell. The Rev. W. H. Nicholas assisted by Captain A. W. Baxter officiated and the organist was Mrs W. Galbraith. As the happy couple left the church they "walked beneath the crossed bayonets of a guard of honour formed by the bridegroom's platoon and continued through the ranks of a large number of W.W.S.A. members who turned out to honour their secretary, the bride. Mrs Grinlinton, wearing a dainty black and white georgette frock and black hat, assisted by Mrs Somervell in a navy ensemble and peach bloom hat received the guests at a reception held at the Masonic Hotel where the usual toasts were honoured.

For travelling the bride chose a vieux rose frock over which she wore a smart black- coat and hat and carried accessories to tone.
