Feilding Live Stock Sale
STORE HOGGETS COMMAND HIGH PRICES. GOOD ENQUIRY FOR DAIRY HEIFERS. The strongest sale this season for store hoggets was registered at yesterday’s Feilding live stock sale when ewe lots made to 34s 8d and wether lots to 295, prices which indicate a particularly strong enquiry. The store sheep pens were occupied largely by hoggets and buyers had a good selection including several well bred lines carrying good fleeces. In the dairy section good forward heifers experienced a keen demand which resulted in the price level lifting somewhat. Station cattle values continue to hold up with an unsatisfied demand. In other respects the sale was buoyant with a generally lively interest in all classes. Fat Sheep. Ewe mutton was again dearer while fat wethers sold on a par with late rates with extra prime blackface mutton making to 43s 7d. The sales were: Fat wethers, 13 account J.
