Manawatu Bowling, Croquet And Tennis Club
The president (Mr R. B. Robertson) presided at the annual meeting of the Manawatu Bowling, Croquet and Tennif Club. In his report, the president stated that the tennis section had faded out for lack of members; though an attempt to carry on was made by » committee of ladies, they met with little success, the weather being a contributing factor. Nearly all of the male members were in the Forces. This was a serious loss to the club, as in the past this section was one of its mainstays. The Croquet section showed an increase of two members. The bowling section maintained its strength. The greens were available for play i spite of the bad weather nearly ever> week-end when many other greens were closed.
