RUGBY, Aug. 20. A controversy of long standing lias ended with the resignation of Ur. Julian liuxley, the eminent bioiogisl* irorn the secretaryship and from membership of the Council of the Zoological {Society, London. A difference oi opinion arose some time ago regarding the distribution of his energies oetween the Zoological {Society and other activities. In his letter of resignation Ur. Huxley says that there no longer exists that measure of mutual confidence and general agreement between himself and the council which would warrant his continuing to hold the post of secretary.
