Salmond, of Feilding, and her daughter Nancy left yesterday to spend a holiday in Wellington. Holidaying in Auckland are Canon and Mrs. G. Y. Woodward, of All Saints’ Vicarage, and Misses Joyce and Dorothy Woodward. Mrs. E. Inman, Cattle Valley, Canterbury, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. vS. L. Quartley, Fitzherbert West, has returned home. Mrs. lan Boulton-Rilcv, together with Misses Norah Beattie and Joan Dermer, left Feilding yesterday to spend a fortnight’s holiday at Taupo. Miss Peggy Gow, of tho nursing staff of the Palmerston North Hospital, is staying at Plimmcrton and is the guest of heT aunt, Mrs. R. 11. Spencer. Mr. and Mrs. McHutchon and Misses J. and M. McHutchon, of Wellington, and Mrs. Ilawkens, of Dunedin, are tho guests of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Bocock, Ada Street, for the New Year vacation. A New Zealand woman living in Surrey who was knitting while listening to a New Zealand air pilot broadcasting his experiences on the North Sea flight, seat a scarf to the pilot, thanking him and others for “ helping dear old England. ’ ’ Lady Willingdon, who, with her husband, the Marquis of Willingdon, will arrive at Wellington early this year to represent the- Government of the United Kingdom during the centennial celebrations, was Hon. Marie Adelaide Brassey, daughter of the first Earl of Brassey. She was married in 1892 and in 1895, wfien her father was Governor of Victoria, her husband was his aide-de-camp
