Homo on final leave before departing for service overseas, Private Lcn Walmsley, of Dunedin, died in the Dunedin Hospital on Saturday night from septic poisoning*. The tragedy surrounding his sudden death was deepened because of the fact that he was married only a week previously. Following their wedding on December 23, Private Walmsley and Mrs. Walmsley went to Kakanui to spend a short honeymoon. His condition continued to become worse as the day progressed and his death occurred at 9.50. Private Walmsley was 27 years of age and was in the employ of Messrs. Sargood, Son, and Ewen. He took a prominent part in the sports teams of thi» firm and was very popular with his fellow-workers.
