A WANDERING WOMAN
i The London police are puzzled over the identity of a woman of about 40 years of age who was found wandering at Paddington at 3 o’clock in the* morn ing with only a halfpenny, a rosary, pair of scissors, razor blade, powder compact and an attache case containing clothes in her possession All they could get from her was that her name was Brida Callaghan, and that she came from America. When brought before Mr Ivan Snell, the Marylebone magistrate, and asked to plead to a charge under the Vagrancy Act of wandering abroad, she replied: “I take it more as a joke to ask me if I am guilty of such a thing/’ The woman was remanded for quiries.
