Steel Cordon Rings Dublin In Search of I.R.A Men

Dublin has been ringed with steei since dawn as the military authorities tightened their cordon in order to ascertain the whereabouts of a million rounds of ammunition stolen from the Phoenix .Park array magazine by members of the Irish Republican Army last Saturday. Armoured cars patrolled the roads and troops examined every passing vehicle. They found a ton of the missing ammunition hidden at Wicklow, from which the search was extended to Kildare, Carlow, and Kilkenny, while Government agents investigated suspected houses in Dublin. Nine members of the magazine guard have been detained pending the conclusion of an inquiry. Five suspects have been remanded in connection with the raid. A drive against Republican supporters have been launched in Belfast, but no arrests have been made.
