Quiet Wedding at Church of Christ

SULLIVAN—BENNETT A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated at the Church of Christ, Campbell Street, Palmerston North, on the £ afternoon of Saturday, December 16, by £ Rev. G. R. Stirling, when Joyce Evelyn, f fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. r Bennett, of To Arakura, was married to f Ronald John, only son of Mr. and Mrs. , J. Sullivan, Ferguson Street, Palmerston North. = : The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a danty frock of egg--5 shell blue suede-finished flat crepe, with V-neck and short sleeves, the bolero and sleeves finished with tiny scallops. She wore a small navy Breton hat trimmed with eggshell blue flowers with navy shoes and carried a bouquet of Christmas lilies, with bluo velvet streamers. The matron of honour, Mrs. R. J. C. Holmes, of Ougarue, a cousin of the bride, wore a floral frock in tones of navy and crimson, a large navy hat and navy shoes and carried a bouquet of crimson polyanthus roses and pelargoniums with velvet streamers to tone. Mr. Robert Law carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony the guests, mostly relatives, were entertained at an informal afternoon tea at tho home of the 1 bride's parents. Mrs. Bennett received her guests wearing a frock of navy patterned in maroon and white, with a navy hat and a shoulder spray of dark red carnations. Mrs. Sullivan, mother of the bridegroom, wore a floral striped frock and in shades of green and tan, with a London tan coat and hat to match, also a shoulder spray of pansies. Sisters of the bride present were Mrs. W. A. Cartliew, of Pahiatua, who wore navy and cyclamen figured sheer with large navy hat and cyclamen trimming; Mrs. D. *R. Salter (Pahiatua), floral frock on white ground, with hat to tone and fawn coat; Mrs. L. Whitehead (Feilding), navy patterned silk, small navy hat, and Miss Kathleen Bennett, patterned linen maize coat and hat to tone. Miss Joan Sullivan, sister of tho bridegroom, woro a patterned froc£ of blue and clover, also a clover hat with blue trimming and tailored bluo coat. When Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Sullivan left later in the day by motor for their honeymoon tho bride wore a smart eggshell blue cloth tailored swing coat ever her blue frock with navy hat and accessories.
