From Our Own Correspondent. Pvt. S. Aloss, Burnham Camp, was the guest of Airs. K. C. Anderson. Lance-Corporal A. Garnett, Ngaruawahia Divisional Cavalry, Airs. XV. Garnett and Miss V. Garnett, who have been visiting relations have returned to HamilLieutenant P. Te Punga is spending a few days with his parents Rev. Air and Airs Te Punga. Air and Airs I. Owen spent Christmas in Napier. Aliss Key who has been the guest of Mrs K. C. Anderson has returned to Wanganui. Air and Airs L. Ramsay, Pahiatua, were week-end visitors to Airs. E. Vass. Airs XV. Stewart, XVaverley, is the guest of Airs N. J. Andersoin. Aliss I. Markham, Nelson, is visiting her parents, Air and Airs E. Alarkham. Mrs XValsh, Alasterton, is the guest of Air and Airs Duffln. Air E. XV. Barnett of Tokorangi, who at present undergoing an advance course of instruction with a view of becoming a pilot instructor, has returned to Hobson: ville after spending a few days at his home. Pvt. XV. Pleasant, was a visitor to Halcombe. Mrs AI. Dudding is staying with her daughter, Airs. G. Burgess. Mrs J. Davey, Waimiha, is spending a holiday with her daughter, Airs. F. CowdMr and Airs R. Grantham are holidaying in Wellington. Mrs A. AlcNae and her two small daughters are spending a holiday in Wanganui. Farewell. The Jubilee hall was packed to the doors on Tuesday evening where people gathered together to farewell the Halcombe boys of the first echelon of the New Zealand Forces. The evening was spent in cards and dancing. Mr. A. Feeney rendered a violin solo with Airs Burgess as accompanist. After supper Air. E. XX r . Cowdrey asked Corporal H. Clarke, Pvts. J. com© up on the stage. He said that the large number present spoke more eloquently of their awareness of what the men were prepared to sacrifice for them, than any words he could say. Those who were left behind also had a duty to perform also, namely, to do what they could to provide comforts and increase production while the men were away. As head of the local R.S.A. he wished the departing men to know that the organisation was at their command. In presenting the men with a fountain pen and an eversharp pencil, Air. Cowdrey wished them the best of luck and a speedy and safe return. The boys were accorded musical honours. Corporal Clarke replied on their behalf. Euchre winners were: Ladies, Aliss AI.
