Makomako
Children’s Handcrafts. Great interest was taken in a display of handcrafts, the work of the pupils of the school at the recent Christmas party. This was competitive and was judged by Mesdames W. Sowry, C. Holdaway and A. Tail. The work had been set out in classes and the judges 1 expressed pleasure at the high standard 'of efficiency evidenced. Mr. G. Hog‘gard was called upon to make presentation of prizes which had been donated ! by W.L members, and in doing so, he also spoke of tho high standard of the work and congratulated tho winners on their success. Frizes were awarded as follows: Girls.—Standards 5 and 6: Marjory Groves 1, Margaret Eising 2, Marjory Groves 3. Standards 3 and 4: Kathleen Eising 1, Joan Groves_2, Kathleen Eising 3. Frimcrs to standard 2: Hazel Dyer 1. Boys.—Standards 5 and 6; Loyle Vile 1, Jack Tait 2 and 3. Standards 3 and 4: Arthur Garlick 1, Welby McMurtric 2 and 3. Primers to standard 2; Peter Dyer 1, Donald McMurtric 2, Peter Dyer 3.
