Hero Pepe le Moko rules as king, idol of the strange, ; exotic women of the quarter, commander of the men, and beloved by every!one for his handsome, smiling face and. ■high, adventurous heart, Sigrid Gurie | is seen as lues, his beautiful and wildly jealous native sweetheart. Then one day there strolls into the Casbah, a . beautiful Parisian tourist, named Gaby j —played by tho alluring Viennese actress, Hedy Lamarr. This is the day for which Slimane, suave provincial detective, has been patiently waiting. For he knows that if nothing else can lure tho great lover out of tho Casbah and iqto the hands of the law, perhaps a woman can. Pepe and Gaby fall madly in love and after a series of exciting and romantic adventures, in tho course of which the jealous native sweetheart betrays Pepe to tho police, the story ends on a breathtaking surprise climax. Joseph Callein plays the detective, Slimane, while others prominently featured in the cast are Alan Hale, Geue Lockhart and Mmc. Nina Koshetz. Additional supporting roles are taken by Joan Woodbury, Claudia Dell, Robert Craig, Stanley Fields, Leonid Kinsky, Paul Harvey and Bert Roach. Mrs. C. E. and Miss D. Carter and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Shore, of Wellington, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Vaughan, Cambridge Street, Pahiatua.
