OROUA DOWNS There was a good attendance to share in the gaiety of tho December meeting which took the form of a children's Christmas Party. Mrs. Smith (president) conducted the business and extended the season'a greetings to thoso present. The competition winners were:—Three best vegetables, Mrs. J. Conlan I, Mrs. Marsden 2; junior, coathanger and shoe trees, Miss D. Curistenscu 2; floral, Mrs. Francis. Next month's competitions will be:—Senior, three jars preserved fruit; juniors, kitchrcn apron, and three vegetables in placo of tho floral competition. Tho afternoon was then given over to the children with the following items:—■ Song, Edith Thomson; tap dance, Lexie Oliver; inouthorgau solo, Bruco gates; recitation, Judith Vcale; song in character, Jimmy Christensen. Winners of tho competitions:—Orange game, Lexie Oliver and William Christensen; musical stick, Brian Williams; darts, Noelino Smith and Maurice Procter; balloons, Tommy Cook and Alfred Christensen. The children w r ere treated to a bounteous afternoon tea and the gift of balloons bringing a very happy party to a close.
