Mr. Arthur Schaw, of the Labour Department, Palmerston North, is spending his Christmas vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. S. R. Schaw, Fcrgusson Street, Woodville. Mr. and Mrs. S. V. Brightwell, formerly of Woodville, are revisiting the town as the guests of Mrs. Brightwell's parents, Mr. and Mrs. de Malmanche, Fox Street. Makotuku members of the first echelon, 2nd N.Z.E.F., home on leave aro Gunner Livingstone and Private Alan Christopherson, of the Transport Corps and son of Mr. nnd Mrs. Anton Christopherson. Mr. and Mrs. J. Kirkpatrick, of Wellington, are spending the holidays with the former’s mother, Mrs. Kirkpatrick, of Ormond Street, Woodville. Also guests of Mrs. Kirkpatrick are her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ashby, of Palmerston North. An old and respected lormer resident of Woodville who is now living in Palmerston North, is spending a holiday with his son, Mr. N. Smith, Franklin Road. One of the pioneers of the Woodville district, Mr. Smith figured prominently in its early history and though getting on in years he still retains vivid memores of the struggles and vicissitudes of those who carved Woodville out of standing bush. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Stevenson, Gladstone Street, who celebrated their golden wedding on Christmas Day are Mr. and Mrs. M. Stevenson and their son and daughter, Bob and June (Waione), Mr. and Mrs. W. Stevenson, and Miss Dawn Stevenson (Stratford), Miss L Stevenson (Christchurch), Misses M. and B. Stevenson (Wellington), Mr. R. Woods (Wellington), Mr. and Mrs. B. Stevenson, Misses H. and J. Stevenson and Master Graham Stevenson (Waihoki), Mr. and Mrs. J. Stevenson,, Miss H. Stevenson (Wai pukurau),. Mr. and Mrs. B. Grant and Miss J. .Grant (Dannevirke), Mr. T. Stevenson (Herbertville), Miss B. Holmes (Masterton), Mrs. F. Goodwin and her small daughter, Pamela (Taumarunui).
