APPEAL TO TRANSPORT INDUSTRY Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 21. The need for economy in the use of petrol throughout tho motor transport industry is stressed iu a joint statement issued to-day by Mr. J. H. Kirk wood, president of the New Zealand Carriers’ Federation, and Mr. J. B. Cullen, president of tho New Zealand Road Transport Alliance. They state they are convinced it is essential in the interests of the Empire that the industry should co-operate 100 per cent, with the Governments of both New Zealand and Great Britain in the conservation of petrol as a matter of war emergency.
