General Notes

Christmas Carols The Salvation Army Band has been conducting very successful carol singing in Woodville and district during the last week. Handling Christmas Mails That the time-honoured custom of exchanging gifts at the Christmas season has by no means lost any of its popularity may be gauged from the intense activity in the mails department of the Woodville post office. During tho past week the counter business has been extremely large, necessitating a short wait for those posting parcels, etc. The postmen have also been particularly busy, their deliveries having increased so much that difficulty is experienced in keepiug to schedule. This is only to be expected with the increased volume of mails, the delivery of which in ordinary circumstances is a difficult task, and in hot weather such as is now being experienced, becomes an unenviable one.
