Dr. J. S. Yeatcs and his wife will spend the Christmas holidays at Taupo. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Clarke will spend the Christmas holidays at Coromandel. Dr. and Mrs. P. R. McMahon leavo to-day for Wellington to spend Christmas at Day's Bay. Miss M. Heaven, Wellington, is spending her vacation with Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Hills, of Makino. Miss L. Heaven, Wellington, will be, the guest of Mr. and Mrs. G. Hurdle, of Feilding, for the Christmas holidays. Miss Francis Ward, of Wellington, is speudimg the Christmas holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Ward, Kimbolton Road, Feilding. Mrs. J. Miller, Lower Hutt, will be ! spending the Christmas holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. Hurdle, King Street, Feilding. Mr. and Mrs. F. Mills and their children, Ranfurly Avenue, Feilding, are just now staying at Paraparaumu Beach. Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Moore, South Street,, have left on a camping holiday travelling .to Hick’s Bay via Gisborne and returning via Rotorua. Mrs. C. P, McMeekan has returned from Foxton beach and, with her husband and family’, will spend Christmas in Palmerston North. Dr. and Mrs. C. R. Barnicoat leave to-day for Wellington, where they will spend the Christmas holidays with Mr. Barnicoat, senior. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Slater are leaving this week to spend several weeks at their fishing lodge at Whangaroa -where Mr. Slater intends spending his time deep sea fishing. Mr. and Mrs.' Russell Darragh, of Feilding,, and their little daughter will spend Christmas and New Year holidays in Wellington and will be staying with Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Pearce. Miss Grace Fuller, home science mistress, of Christchurch High School, has arrived to spend the holidays with her mother, Mrs. R. A. Fuller, Victoria Avenue. Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Lethbridge, Arapata, Feilding, with their children will motor to Waipawa to spend Christmas with Mrs. G. Y. Lethbridge, of Mahoe. Mrs. G. Roxburgh, of Auckland, and her children will also bp staying at Mahoe for the festive season. Mrs. Robert Mcßeth returned to Feilding yesterday after a holiday of three weeks spent at Plimmerton, where sho w’as accompanied by her granddaughter, Miss Jean Beedic, of Dannevirke. Mr. and Mrs. Nevill Wright, of Wellington, paid a brief visit to Palmerston North this week. They will sail for' England early in the New Year. Mr. Wright will resume his position as scientific liaison officer at New Zealand House, London. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. C. Evans, of Feilding, accompanied by Miss Edna Thomson. of Palmerston North, left Feilding this morning by car for Dargaville, where they will spend a fortnight with their son, Mr. Alister Evans. On their homeward journey Mr. and Mrs. Evans will stay a few days in Auckland. The names of two New Zealanders figure in the autumn exhibition of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, in Piccadilly, states The Post's London correspondent. They are Mrs. A. Elizabeth Kelly (Christchurch) and Sir Harold Gillies, the plastic surgeon. Mrs. Kelly has two portraits hung; Sir Harold, an artist himself, this time forms the subject for a portrait. He is seen fixing a fly beside a quiet stream flowing through lush green country. The artist is Bernard Adams, R.P. Mrs. Kelly has made two studies in pink—- “ Lorna" and “ Margaret." Both women are wearing delicate pink dresses; the former is in profile.
