General Strike Likely In Australian Mines
DEFIANCE OF ARBITRATION COURT United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, Dec. 20. Leaders of coal-mining unions have decided to defy the Arbitration Court by instructing all members to work only 40 hours a week without overtime. The full effect of the decision is unlikely to be felt until the resumption of worjj; in the coalmines after the holidays, probably a fortnight hence, i when a general strike is certain to be precipitated.
