Bowlnig Match at Wellington

MANAWATU CENTRE’S VISIT. Though beaten-by 362 points to 349 in the aggregate, sixteen rinks representing the Manawatu Bowling Centre spent a very enjoyable day when they journeyed to Wellington on Wednesday to play a team representing the Wellington Centre. The weather was sunny and warm, but there was a strong northerly wind. In the morning, the Manawatu bowlers played on the greens of the Wellington, Thorndon, Victoria, and Island Bay clubs, and in the afternoon they played 16 rinks representing the Wellington Centre, who won the games by a margin of 13 points on the aggregate. Before play commenced in the afternoon, the visitors were welcomed by Mr. W. Gilbert, president of the Wellington Centre, and Mr. J. A. Nash, president of the Manawatu Centre, replied.
