Advico has been received by Mr H. J. Rees, Palmerston North,, of his admission to the membership of the New Zealand {Society of Accountants.
Mr P. Martin-Smith, M.A., LL.B., Dip. Ed., Palmerston North, has been appointed tutor-organiser for the Workers' Educational Association in the Wellington and Hawke’s Bay district.!. He will shortly be making a preliminary tour of the area, visiting the various W.E.A. groups. Reference was made by His Worship tli;) Mayor, Mr P. W. Goldsmith, at this week’s meeting of the Levin Borough Council, to the serious illness of Mr J. K. Hornblow, chairman of tho Palmerston North Hospital Board. The council expressed the hope that he would soon recover from his illness.
Mr. It. W. Gibbs has been re-elected a director of the Bank of New Zealano as a representative of the shareholders by a large majority. His term of office is for three years from March 31, 1937. Mr. Gibbs has been a director of the bank for 13 yoars, his associate as shareholders' representative being Mi. William Watson. The other candidate for representation of shareholders on the board was Mr. M. O. Barnett, of Wellington. The election was conducted by a postal ballot of shareholders.
