Happy Party to Celebrate a Birthday
A very pleasant evening was spent at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Drake, Park road, on Monday evening, when friends paid a surprise visit on the occasion of Mrs. Drake’s birthday. she evening was spent in games and competitions, and the winners of one very interesting competition were Miss A. Jackson and Mr. H. Sievert. Mr. and Mrs. L. Jackson were the winners of two further competitions that caused considerable amusement.
During the evening, Mr. F. Jackson, on behalf of the company, presented Mrs. Drake with a handsome piece of pottery, and expressed the good wishes of those assembled. He then proposed the toast of the guest of the evening, this being enthusiastically honoured. After supper, games continued until a late hour, when ‘‘Auld Lang ended an enjoyable evening. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. F. Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. W. Buchanan, Mr. and Mrs. W. Mudford, Mr. and Mrs. L. Jackson, Miss Grey, Miss A. Grey, Miss W. Buchanan, Miss A. Jackson, Miss J. Crozier, Mrs. Cummings, Mr. H. Sievert.
