t - - 1 All Sorts of Weather Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. X number of deep active secondary depressions are crossing the South Island to-day. Conditions are disturbed also in the tropics to the north, while an intense anticyclone is still centred over Tasmania. Winds: North-west to south-west and later becoming more generally southerly, moderate to strong generally, but in places of gale force. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough north of Farewell Spit and in the Cook and Foveaux Strait areas. A considerable swell on the west coast of the South Island, elsewhere moderate but later rising south of East Cape. Eastern Tasman; Strong southwesterly winds to gales and rough seas. Weather: Unsettled with rain at times in most districts. Some heavy falls are probable over the South Island with thunder and hail in places. Temperatures: Becoming coloer.
