Zoning in the Waikato
DIFFICULTIES ENCOUNTERED HAMILTON, Feb 10. The Executive Commission of Agriculture has been engaged since last Saturday morning in considering the rationalisation of the cream supplies and butter-manufacturing interests in the Waikato. The chairman, Bir Francis Frazer, said to-day that the Waikato was one of the most difficult districts iu New Zealand in which the commission had had to work. Meetings of representatives of different companies in tho central Waikato area had been held, and negotiations had been proceeding with a view to bringing about an amicable zoning arrangement in relation to the supplies of the co-operative and . proprietary companies operating in tho Tho represeatatives of the companies concerned were required to report the result of their deliberations before the commission to their respective diretorates, aDd further conferences with the commission would be held later. Bir Francis said it would probably be some months before finality could bo reached as far as the central Waikato area was concerned. The commission left this evening for Taranaki, where negotiations similar to those carried out in the W'&ikato will bo commenced. The commission will meet tho representatives of tho Ohura Valley and Kaitieke Companies, King Country, next .week, and an attempt wil bo mado to finalise the transfer of the Waikato Valley Dairy Company’s depot and dreamreceiving organisations in tho TaUmarunui area to the two companies.
