Found Guilty of Serious Crime
“ONE OF WORST CASES EVER BEFORE COURT Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. In the Supreme Court before Air. Justice Northcroft, Joseph Isherwood, a herbalist, faced three charges of indecent assault on males. He pleaded not guilty und his trial occupied the greater part of the day. The Crown Prosecutor (Air. A. T. Donnelly) described tho case as one of the worst ever before the Court. The jury retired for an hour and 10 minutes and found the prisoner guilty on all three charges. Ho was remanded for sentence. Henry Percy Rentoul Ramsbottom Isherwood pleaded guilty to a charge oi unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16 and was remanded for sentence. •
