The oldest living Scot, Alias Isabella Miller, of Boat of Alurthly, Caputh, near Dunkeld, is 106 years old. She herself cut tho cako with the 106 candles at the party recently—and her one regret was that her brother, Daniel, of Kensington Place, Camden Hill, London, who is 95, was not present. She has not seen him since 1914. Miss Miller has a clear recollection of Queen Victoria's visit to tho Highlands in 1844. She visited tho great 1851 exhibition in London, and speaks of tho time When no bridge spanned the River Tay, and travellers changed stago coaches by forrying across the river. She still reads hor newspaper without spectacles, knits socks and walks unaided in the garden daily. She has just completed six pairs of socks.

News of the engagement announced between Pilot-Officer Hugh Proctor Blundell, R.A.F., only son of Air. and Mrs. J. L. Blundell, Hawke's Bay, and Muriel Evelyn, youngest daughter of the late Air. P. S. Taylor and Mrs. Taylor, Annfield, Brookfield, Renfrewshire, will be of interest to many New Zealanders. The engagement is announced, and the marriage will shortly take place, between Lieutenant Viscount Kelßurn, Royal Navy, eldest son of the Earl and Countess of Glasgow, and Dorothea, only daughter of Sir Archibald and Lady Lylo, of Glendelvme, Alurthly, Perthshire, wrote a London correspondent on January 20. Next spring they will bo seen in all the air liners, as they have proved invaluable to passengers. The number of stewardesses will be increased from five to 20.
