Feilding Ladies’ Golf Club

PROMINENT MEMBERS FAREWELLED.

In beautiful -weather conditions yesterday afternoon a large number of members of the Feilding Ladies’ Golf Club took part in a programme of competitions at the links arranged by the committee to mark tho forthcoming departure from Feilding of two prominent and popular members in Mrs. G. Phillips and her daughter, Miss A. Phillips. At a suitable juncture during the afternoon Mrs. E. Fair, the club’s secretary, voiced the regret of members at losing the guest 3 who had both been most enthusiastic members of tho club and who had done so much to promote the welfare of members. Airs. L. Gorton supported Mrs. Fair and was followed by Airs. K. M. Little, the club captain who on behalf of tho members presented Airs. Phillips with a handsome crystal sandwich tray and to Aliss Phillips a beautiful skin handbag, as tokens of the esteem in which they were held. The recipients suitably acknowledge the presentations and botn said that they were sorry to be leaving Feildiug and severing association with the club which they had both enjoyed so very much. A delightful afternoon tea was provided by the ladies, the tables beiug artistically decorated for the occasiou with charm dahlias by Aliss 11. Cornfoot. The competitions were won by Mrs. C. G. C. Dermer (approach and putt), Mrs. P. G. Aliles (putting) and Miss M I-liggie (car competition).
