JUDD—SHANAHAN. A wedding of much public interest took place at St. Brigid’s Church, Pahiatua, on the morning of Wednesday, January 27, when Mary Bridget (Binnie) Shanahan, second daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. Edward Shanahan, Waterford, Ireland, was married to Kenneth Carr Judd, third son of r and Mrs. J. Judd, Taddyford, TtJie, Eketahuna, by Rev. Father Cashman,. of Pahiatua. Mrs. McSherry officiated at the organ and the church was beautifully decorated by the nuns of St. Brigid’s Convent, who made effective use of pink and blue hydrangeas fastened with pink and blue ribbons. The bride, who waa given away and escorted to the church by her cousin, Mr. C. H. Hodgins, of Tane, was beautifully frocked in ankle-length powder blue georgette serge, and she had a blue picture hat and shoes. She carried a toning bouquet, made by Mrs. W. T. Wilton, 4 ‘The Glen,” Tane, Eketahuna. In attendance on the bride were her two cousins, Misses Joyce Hodgins (Tane) and Peggy Jameson (Masterton). The bridesmaids were frocked alike in ankle-length mousselino imprinue, shirred at the neckline. They wore pink shoes toning hats and gloves, and carried pretty bouquets which blended with their frocks. Mr. George Redman, of Konini, acted as best man, and Mr. Neville Judd, brother of the bridegroom, was groomsman. Mr. C. Wilton, Tane, acted as usher at the church. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Foresters’ hall, where Mrs. T. Hodgins, aunt of the bride, received some 80 guests, some of whom came from Wellington, Wanganui, Masterton and Palmerston North. Mrs. Hodgins wore a becoming black ensemble and Mrs. J. Judd, mother of the bridegroom, was in a smart navy floral ensemble. Mr. J. Jameson, Lansdowne, Masterton, presided at the reception, where the handsome pastel shaded wedding cake, the gift of the bride’s cousin, Mrs. J. Jameson, was greatly admired. The young couple, who were the recipients of many varied and useful wedding presents, departed by car for their honeymoon which was to be spent touring the North Island. The bride’s travelling outfit was a grey tailored costume with navy bluo accessorie#. The bridesmaids were given crystal necklaces by the bridegroom, who built for his bride a new home at Tane, Eketahuna.
