Bride-to-be Honoured By Friends at Matamau
On the ev© of tier marriage, residents of Matamau and district entertained Miss Nancy Sergeant, only daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Sergeant, at a kitchen evening in tho hall, Mrs T. Carr acting as hostess. There was a large attendance. A pleasant time was spent in dancing to music supplied by Mr I). A. Stratford (accordeon). Extras were played by Miss V. Anderson and Master Bond (piano), and Messrs G. Peters and P. Stratford (bagpipes). Mr Ivan Suinmersby was M.C. On behalf of the gathering, Mr J. A. Stratford extended to the bride-elect heartiest congratulations, and wished her a long life of happiness and prosperity. He called upon Mr Jim Curry to bring Miss Sergeant to the stage to receive a large assortment of presents. Mr Curry, on behalf of Miss Sergeant and himself, returned thanks for the presents and the hosts of good wishes expressed to them. Musical honours were then accorded.
