Dunedin Wool Sale
FINE WOOLS IN GOOD DEMAND. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Feb. 10. The second Duuedin wool sale of 30,000 bales opened this morning. The offering was a particularly good one, with outstanding lots in both fine wools and Crossbreds. In sympathy with recent sales in other centres, there was a very strong demand for Crossbreds, which compared with the first Dunedin sale, was fully firm and in some cases slightly dearer. Fine wools were also in good demand. A feature was the strong demand by local mills for good super halfbred, which sold at 26Ad. for a top line of “Hilltop” wool, with two other sales at 253 d., and a further lot at 25d. The demand for crossbreds was fully distributed, with buying on account of America and Bradford. Japan was again a strong competitor for half-bred wool. INFERIOR FLEECE IRREGULAR AT SYDNEY. Received Wednesday, 11.5 p.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 10. At the wool sales 11,988 bales were offered and 9857 sold, also 1813 private ly. While the market was generally firm at late rates there was some irregularity to-day on average to inferior fleece wools. Greasy Merino sold to Ssd.
