Roosevelt’s Large-scale Programme
FLOOD CONTROL AND NATIONAL RESOURCES. Received Wednesday, 9.20 p.m. WASHINGTON, Feb. 9. President Roosevelt announces that he intends to submit to Congress a broad programme combining all national planning, flood control and conservation of national resources under one organisation based on eight regional boards. The details will be determined at conferences to be held later. EXTENDING PRESIDENT’S BARGAINING POWERS Received Wednesday, 9.20 p.m. WASHINGTON, Feb. 10. The House passed a resolution ex tending for three years President Roosevelt’s power to negotiate reciprocal trade agreements. The measure will now go to the Senate.
