Plane’s Plunge to Oblivion
ELEVEN PASSENGERS ABOARD AMAZING HAPPENING AT SAN FRANCISCO United Press Assrclatlon—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Wednesday, 9.50 p.m. SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 10. A transport plane with eleven [ aboard plunged into the bay en route from Los Angeles to the airport here. The splash and roar was heard in a village three miles away. The coastguard and police boats rushed to the scene and placed flares in the water but no sign of the plane was found an hour later. The water is extremely deep and officials of the airline are puzzled to explain the cause owing to the clear skies.
