P. lnnes) was granted a de cree absolute against John Charles Gower (Air T. M. N. Rodgers). Peti tioncr was granted custody of tho child, with a payment of £250 und a weekly payment of £1 a week for the maintenance of the child until it reaches 10 years of age. In the Supreme Court at Palmerston North yesterday, it was announced that a private settlement had been reached in the case in which John Bolton, Massey College student, claimed from Alfred Henry Martin, Umutoi saw miller, £750 general and £129 special damage. It was announced by Mr H. R. Cooper (for plaintiff) that the amount of damages had been agreed upon. The jurors were therefore discharged, uo further cuses remaining to bo heard before them.
