No Decision in Motor Strike
MAYOR OF FLINT AS DICTATOR. United Pres* Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyrixh t. Received Tuesday, 10.0 p.m. DETROIT, Feb. 9. The motor strike conference adjourned early this morning until tonight. It was believed earlier to be ou the verge of collapsing when General Motors issued a statement expressing doubt that anything was likely to be accomplished and reiterated its determination not to be coerced into permitting the union to be the sole bargaining agency. It is stated that the offer to hold a secret ballot of all employees on the latter question was rejected by the union. Meanwhile the City Commission at Flint declared that an emergency existed and voted Mayor Bradshaw the power of a virtual dictator with complete control of 700 special police. Ironically Mr Bradshaw is an employee of the Buick Company,
