Britain’s National Health Campaign
COMPLIMENTARY TO NUTRITION IMPROVEMENT United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph.—Copy right. Received Tuesday, 9.20 p.m. * LONDON, Feb. 9. The former Middlesex cricketer, Lord Aberdare, will become Chairman of the National Advisory Council under the Government’s new physical fitness scheme. Hon. Oliver Stanley, in making the announcement in the Commons, described the duties of the Council as partly t scientific, but perhaps the most important work would be propaganda and publicity. The Council would consist of thirty. It will establish and work through local committees. The scheme is not intended to deal with nutrition but will be complementary to the Government’s measures to improve nutrition. Ho admitted that there were black spots in the country-, but the idea that the great mass of the people of Britain were so underfed that they were unable to derive profit from physical training was grotesque.
