Womens Christian Temperance Union
Last week the first W.C.T.U. meeting of the year was held in the St. Paul’s Schoolroom. There were eleven ladies present. Mrs. H. Paterson presided, opening the meeting with prayer. Several apologies were received from members. A discussion took place regarding sending a delegate to the Dominion Convention which is being held in Chistchurch early in March. Mrs. J. D. Wilson kindly offered her grounds for a garden party as a means of raising funds for the local branch. This was accepted with thanks and arrangements were. finalised for holding same this month. Mrs. C. M. Roberts closed the meeting.
