__ WEEK-END MATCHES. PAHIATUA V, MANGAMUTU. Inter-club tennis was very popular over the week-end, the Pahiatua Lawn Tennis Club engaging no less than three other local clubs—Mangamutu, Ballance and Makomako. The match against Mangamutu Club provided excellent tennis, practically all the games being very keenly contested and long-drawn out as the president of the visiting club and his Mangamutu opponent found to their cost. Pahiatua ran. out the winners by 17 sets to 7, but this.was not a true indication of the trend of play, as the actual games bear out —Paliiatua 172, Mangamutu 171.
