After a tour in Australia extending over five weeks, Mrs. I. Bird returned to the city during the week-end. Mesdaraes Lee, Moxon and Anderson, of the Northern Croquet Club, are playing in the Wellington tournamenr which opens at Lower Hutt to-day. The Palmerston North Rotary Club yesterday decided to forward a letter of sympathy to Mr J. Iv. Horn blow, of Foxton, chairman or the Palmerston North Hospital Board, who is seriously ill in the hospital. Mr G. G. Priest, the president of the club, said that Mr Horn blow had been a frequent visitor to the club and had been the principal speaker at several of the club’s gatherings.
