Air Prince now makes his home with his daughter .Mrs R. Hooper. Mrs B. Anderson, of Tauranga, spent a few days at “Crosslpol,” with Airs G. Cowan, before visiting members of her family in Taranaki and Canterbury. Tennis After somo difficulty .ie club captain arranged for a local team to visit Kimbolton on Saturday to play in the Haythorne Cup competition. Apiti won by 14 sets to 10 sets, Kimbolton having to forfeit two sets as players were unable to wait for their games. The matches played were most interesting and some close finishes were witnessed in several advantage sets. A year or two ago tho question of smaller teams for this competition wa discussed, but it was then decided to continue with teams of 12 players, six men and six ladies. However, it seems that smaller teams of four men and four lady players should be considered for the future, as the clubs with small membership experience some difficulty in arranging for teams of 12 players. Any of the clubs with a large membership could quite easily enter two teams in the competition if the teams were smaller and thus create more interest in the matches. Tho Apiti team on Saturday included several players who play only an occasional g-ani© of tennis, yet who were sporting enough to fill tho places of others unable to participate. Miss AI. Osborne, Mesdames L. E. Schmidt, A. W. Bird, A. Alessrs D. Kearney (captain). E. Osborne, E. Schmidt, W. 11, Watson, A. It. AicNae and Jack Swift, were the Apiti players. Three members of the team are grandparents, and the scores proved them to be very active ones and well able to play singles against more youthful opponents. Ewe Fair Sheep Farmers have been busy among their flocks sorting out the ewes and lambs for the annual drafts for the sale at Apiti on Tuesday. Buyers and vendors, especially those coming from a distance, will be Interested to know that members of the Anglican Ladies’ Guild will be providing teas in order to augment church fund".
