Disaster Which Might Have Been Prevented

LATE EDITION

DEBATE MAY BE FORCED IN COMMONS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Sunday, 9.20 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 7. The Socialists propose to seek a debate in the Commons on the subject or the report of the Court of Inquiry which investigated the Gresford Colliery disaster in September, 1934, in which 265 were killed. The report sharply criticises the management, Government inspectors, union officials and workmen for “ the omission of precautions which might have prevented the disaster.” One member of the Court urges legal proceedings against those he deems responsible.
