Windows Smashed When Car Mounts Footpath

SUNDAY AFTERNOON ACCIDENT IN FOXTON. The Sunday afternoon peace of Voxton was broken about 3.30 o’clock yesterday by a noise of splintered glass. The disturbance followed the arrival of five youths from Marton. Hiring a car from a garage there, they drove to Foxton. Whether they attempted to park by the kerb is unknown, but the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle which mounted the footpath opposite tho drapery promises of Mr. G. F. Smith, and came to rest only tiler it had shattered three valuable plate glass windows. The youths, whose names could not be ascertained last night, were unhurt, but two Foxton girls who were on the footpath had a narrow escape. i.ev suffered lacerations of tho legs, but were not seriously injured.
