An unusual accident befell a motorcyclist at Gisborne as he was passing the High School cricket grounds. His passing of the grounds coincided with the hitting of a six by one of the players in a cricket match, and the bail struck him on the forehead just above the left eye. It was fortunate that the ball had lost some of its impetus by bouncing on the road before it struck the cyclist, or tho consequences might have been more serious.
