Passengers by the Niagara for Vancouver recently were Earl and Mrs. McCready. McCready’s ear.y departure after a wonderfully successful start in Australia is due to the need for his wife to undergo an operation which will be undertaken at Ottawa, Canada. Mrs. McCready was injured in an accident in New Zealand about two months ago, but the trouble at the time appeared only slight. However, since her husband has been in Australia, complications have set in and an operation has been deemed necessary. But for that, McCready would have stayed three months in Australia. According to newspaper reports, the big Canadian, while in Melbourne, did much to restore the prestige of wrestling there, * and drew some big “houses.” How France Does it. Henri Cochet has accepted an invitation from the French Under-Sec-retary of State for Organisation or Sports to assist in the spread of lawn tennis in France by a series of exhibition matches in those parts of the country where the game is still undeveloped.
