1 > LONDON, January 9. 1 Jack Doyle, singer, film actor, and 7 cabaret dancer, is “dead.” Jack Doyle, • curly-haired Irish boxer, announced 7 this fact himself when he arrived at '• Waterloo Station on the Normandie boat train. The resurrected Jack Doyle ’ spoke penitently of his former self. r He said: 1 “It was myself who made the mis--3 take. I have made several mistakes in l my life. The biggest was when I went 1 to Hollywood, a life of dissipation. Far too much temptation, luxury, late 3 hours, and other things. One gets soft. 3 “I kept walking round the sets ' thinking it was no life for a lighter. 3 I’m finished with film work and any--1 thing else but the ring. I’m going back 1 to dear old Dan Sullivan, tho man who 1 got mo out of tho Army years ago, and > began to make a fighter of me. Dan has promised to wipe tho slate clean i and being all over again with mo. I 3 want most to sock Petersen. First, 1 ■ want to be British heavy-weight champion, and my ambition is still to be world champion.”
