From Our Own Correspondent Tennis. On Saturday a tennis match was played between Kairanga and Rangiotu on the local courts. Details are as follow, Rangiotu players being mentioned lirst: — Ladies’ singles: Miss li. Beard lost to Miss T. Davey U—o, Miss P. Larkins lost to Miss Doreen 3—G, .Miss K. Dixon beat Miss 1.. Green (i—s, Miss P. Shaw beat Miss G. Ransom 6—3. Men's singles: E. Searancke lost to G. Davey 2—G, E. Donaldson beat L. Clark G—s, D. Donaldson beat R. Mildon b—l, W. Rankin lost to T. Davey 3—o. Combined doubles: Miss Beard and E. Searancke lost to Miss T. Davey and G. Daveey 4—G, Miss IJ.1 J . Burkins ana E. Donaldson beat Miss Doreen and L. Clark G—4, Miss K. Dixon and D. Donaldson beat Miss O. Green and Mildon G—2, Miss Shaw and V. Rankin lost to Miss Kanson und G. Davey 2—G. Badies' dooubles: Misses 13. Beard and P. Barkins beat Misses T. Donaldson lost to R. Mildon and G. Davey 5—G. Pig-Marketing Association There was an attendance of over GO farmers at a meeting arranged by the New Zealand Co-op. Pig Marketing Association, held in tlie local hall. Mr F. Legge was in the chair, and introduced the speaker lor the evening, Mr Hastings, of Hamilton, New Zealand organiser lor the association. Although no new ground was broken, the address was listened to witii much Interest. At tlie conclusion of the address, Mr Hastings presented a moving picture, depicting the marketing ot' New Zealand pork and bacon in England. The film proved to be most interesting and instructive and was greatly enjoyed. Factory Manager's Success. Tho suppliers of tlie Rangiotu Dairy Company have every reason to be proud of the success of their manager, Mr Steve Ross, who has established a record for the company in having 75 per cent of the season's output graded ‘’finest” at the port of Wanganui. Personal Mr and Mrs S. Pearce, of Balnesse, have left on a motor tour of the Eaet Coast district. Mr and Mrs Wilkinson, of the school house, have recently hud as their guest, Miss Marjorie Gould, of Marton. Miss Stella Phillips, of Wellington, is at present visiting her sister, Mrs Monty Saywell. Mrs A. J. Toogood, of Talavera Terrace, Wellington, has returned to her home after spending a few weeks with Mr and Mrs M. Toogood. Mr arid Mrs C. R. Beard, of Auckland, spent the week-end with Mr and Mrs E. G. Beard, Pykes road.
