Pahiatua Show
PREPARATIONS PROCEEDING APACE. A meeting of the committee of the Pahiatua A. and P. Association was held in the office of the secretary on Tuesday afternoon. A good deal of business was transacted and final arrangements made for the Show. The secretary reported that exceptionally good entries were coming to hand for ail sections. Interest and enthusiasm were never keener and with anything like a fine day there should be a record crowd. It was resolved to hold a working bee on the grounds on Wednesday morning next, those present generously offering their services. The following new members were elected: Messrs. A. Bentley, J. G. Swainson, W. Hull, A. Ellmers, H. Hutcheon, C. Hopkins, V. B. Tripe, H. Ahrens and the New Zealand Farmers’ Distributing Co. It was decided to hold two judging competitions for members of the Young Farmers 7 Club, one for the cattle classes and the other for the sheep section, the entry fee to be one shilling and the prizes miniature cups. The stewards in charge of the Young Farmers* Club contests will be Messrs. E. S. Heckler, J. Campbell and C. H. Wilton. Late entries will positively close on Saturday next, February 6.
