Struck by Stone in Blasting Operations

FATALITY IN QUARRY. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. Struck ou the side of the head by a pioce of rock about four inches iu diameter which was thrown up during blasting operations at tho Summit road quarry Robert Grice, aged 42, an employee of tho Public Works Department, died this afternoon iu the Christchurch Hospital. Grice was a married man with seven children living in fLenilworth street, Addington. Tho accident occurred iu tho morning when largo boulders were being broken up. Grice was sitting under a ledge at tho other side of the quarry and the stone was thrown over a pilo of rock 130 feet high and struck him on tho head.
