Hastings Cricket

GANNET CUP FIXTURE. The Hastings Cricket bub-Association met on Monday, when Mr A. D. Mahoney presided over a good attendance of delegates. It was decided to approach tho Wellington association to see if tho times of play for the Gannet Cup match at Easter could be arranged to enable the Hastings players to see the M.C.C, v.

Wellington game. The selector, Mr E. Mitchell, was requested to select the Hastings players for practice after the next round of matches. All practices were cancelled for Thursday night, February 4, as No. 2 (Saturday) wicket would bo required for Thursday players. A report from tho grounds committee intimated that the clubs had been using th< wrong practice pitches aiid that difiieulty was therefore being experienced iu keeping them up to standard. Mr Thomas was empowered to interview Mr L. J. Brabia with regard to arrangements for the Wellington Colts v. Hastings (Gannet Cup) match at Easter. As tho High School had not reopened it was decided to cancel tlio fifth series (junior games), and carry on from the sixth series oil February 13. Tho grounds committee was instructed to use only two wickets. At the High School, where it was possible to do so.
