Wives of Visiting Jersey Breeders Entertained

PLEASANT FUNCTION AT FEILDING SHOW There was a very pleasing function at the I'eilding Show on Tuesday following the £SOO Jersey Oaks’ Competition when tho ladies’ committee of the Manawatu Jersey Club entertained the wives of the visiting Jersey breeders at afternoon tea. The committee members comprised Mesdames J. A. Russell (chairman), G. Shannon, J. O’Donnell, J. Smith, A. Montgomerie, J. A. Mitchell and W. E. Thornes. The function took place in tho Stewards’ room and during the serving of refreshments opportunity was taken by Mrs Russell to extend a welcome to the visitors, Mrs R. C. Leach (Woodville) responding on their behalf. Among those present were Mrs P. W. Anderson who had worked tho iirst prize ribbon for tho big competition, Mrs G. H. Bell (Taranaki), wife of the president of the New Zealand Jersey Breeders’ Association, also Mesdames C. G. C. Derroer, Phillips (Woodville), Kay (Taranaki), It. C. Leach (Woodville), B. Mitchell (Longburn), Klenner (Taranaki), Alman, Evans and Nicholson (Levin), Miss Holland and others.
